Madrid in Love, a creative initiative.

Madrid, a city which doesn’t stop, which grows, evolves, creates and moves. The capital city, home to two of our most prestigious buildings, where you can enjoy shorter or longer luxury holidays in our Eric Vökel Madrid and Eric Vökel Atocha Apartments and Suites, never ceases to surprise us with its creativity, initiative and innovative proposals, including the project titled Madrid in Love, a renowned and successful pop-up store created by Juan Luis Medina and Naroa Quirós.

The careers of these two young entrepreneurs began in 2009 with the creation of their first pop-up, a new ephemeral concept store, an idea created in Canada and the United States at the end of the twentieth century which spread throughout the planet in the early twenty-first century.

The Madrid in Love pop-up store began in a small shop in Velázquez Street and later moved to a beautiful building in the same street. Some time later the team discovered the old Lamarca Brothers carriage factory, founded in 1840, a structure of great beauty hidden in Fernando VI Street. Three pop-up stores were held here, but they soon relocated to a half-derelict industrial garage in the Salamanca neighbourhood.

This is how the nomadic, ephemeral and ethereal nature of Madrid in Love works. It appears and disappears to be transformed, to surprise and to create expectation. The next location? The best kept secret of its founders.

The short-lived stores display their own designs, furniture discovered in different European countries, works by other designers and artists… an inspirational world revolving around interior decoration.

But Madrid in Love is not just an ephemeral store, it is a much broader concept: clandestine dinners are organised in itinerant locations of great singularity and beauty, including an old renovated garage, a craft workshop, a charming old warehouse and so on.

The decoration and mise-en-scène is the work of the Madrid in Love team, together with The Workshop Flores, which specializes in exquisite floral arrangements, while the catering is entrusted to Gourmetillo.

As an interior design studio Madrid in Love conducts different projects in private and public venues, such as the Le Sac shoe shops and the Maricastaña restaurant.

An original idea, an attractive and entertaining global project for all decoration lovers looking for something more: difference and exclusivity in the heart of Madrid.
