Born of the spirit of adventure and creativity of restaurateur Tomás Tarruella, Green Spot Restaurant—a vegetarian for non-vegetarians—opened its doors to the public in the city of Barcelona half a year ago.

Green Spot is part of the En Compañía de Lobos group, created in 2013 by Tomás Tarruella, who also happens to be the co-founder of the highly successful and experienced Grupo Tragaluz. This vegetarian restaurant is among the group’s many food establishments strewn between Barcelona, Madrid, and Mexico, such as Gallito, inaugurated in 2013, Ana la Santa (2013, Madrid), Cuines MX, Bosco de Lobos (2014, Madrid), Palmito (2015), Ninot Cuina (2015), and Gats, the group’s latest addition.

Each of the restaurants of En Compañía de Lobos revolves around a different concept—gastronomically speaking, that is—turning Green Spot into a true paradise for both lovers of vegetarian cuisine and carnivores, who come away astonished at how enjoyable vegetarian cuisine can be.

A varied and carefully selected menu—with strong influences from international cuisines such as Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Arabic, and Southeast Asian—combined with beautiful interiors, chock-full of personality and style, designed by the Brazilian interior designer Isay Weinfeld, and first-class service, has made Green Spot Restaurant an instant hit in the local food scene.

Playful dishes with an explosion of flavors coupled with subtle nuances such as spicy chili edamame or breaded cauliflower, roast fennel with orange and ají, black pizza, spätzle with raclette cheese and onion, quesadillas with kimchi, and chili sin carne, are just some of its temptingly delectable offerings.

Green Spot, one of the newest temples of healthy and flavorful cuisine, is found right beside one of the most emblematic buildings in the city—the well-known Porxos d’en Xifré, built between 1836 and 1840 in the neoclassical style and remodeled recently—between Port Vell and Passeig de Colom.
