A true mirage in the form of a breathtaking architectural project, a chameleon-like living space in perfect harmony with contemporary architecture and respect towards the environment.
It is deeply fascinating, despite being just a meticulously detailed project on paper at the moment. A residence built with simple materials such as wood, cement, and glass carved into a cliff to pay homage to ‘brutalism’, delicately and uniquely bordering on the sublime.
The Aegean Sea, the perfect stage for Casa Brutale. The breathtaking views of the horizon merges into the structure of the glass roof on which a swimming pool with crystalline waters rests, giving rise to a constant play of shadows and movement.
Casa Brutale, with its simple lines and avant-garde character, perfectly blends into the fascinating landscape. The underground building embraces the landscape without detracting from it; only one facade can be seen on the cliff side, and no part of it juts out from the ground.
Its minimalist design, readily apparent after going down 50 steps to reach the entrance, coexists in perfect balance with the project’s essence in which natural light take center stage— something truly astonishing due to its strategic location—by means of dynamic light patterns that play on the bare cement, hypnotically, purely, and simply.
Raw and brutal, unpretentious, monumental and fascinating—a true 21st century architectural masterpiece which, beyond a shadow of a doubt, deserves to be built.
